About Elaine G
With care and dedication infused by her childhood, her move to a new city she calls home now, Elaine creates ceramic works that capture the quiet beauty of everyday emotion.
Delicate and careful construction with a slow, mindful process of hand-building allows each creation to develop with intention. She aims to find the delicate balance between form and feeling. Her ceramics are more than functional—they invite reflection and warmth.
Elaine’s practice focus on hand-building, coiling and experimenting with colours. Every vessel is entirely hand-painted, with each piece drawing inspiration from stories, nature, the sea, and human connection. The endless possibilities of crafting objects that are both beautiful and functional continually spark her curiosity and love of ceramic.
As she continues her creative journey, Elaine looks forward to sharing the emotional depth of handmade ceramics. Her studio is located in Sydney, Australia in a quiet suburb called Chifley.
The makers mark “玲” (ling) is one part of her name in Chinese character. It is on most of her pieces as an homage to her heritage.
